It's that time of year again! Time for feasting and fun with family and friends — and probably packing on a few pounds. So what better time to participate in a 5k race or one-mile walk for a great cause?

On Dec. 10, the Charleston Junior Study Club hosts the seventh annual Jingle Bell Jog. With a 5k race, one-mile walk and youth race, there's something for all levels of fitness.

Pre-registration for the race is open through Nov. 21. Fill out a registration form and mail it and $15 registration fee to Junior Study Club, P.O. Box 53, Charleston, MO 63834. Print the form at the bottom of this post or email charlestonjuniorstudyclub@gmail.com for a copy.

Registration will also be available on the day of the race for $20. Registration will begin at 7:50 a.m. Dec. 10 at the Scout Cabin, on the corner of Cypress and Stark streets. The race will begin at 8 a.m. at the cabin. Course maps will be available.

Long-sleeve T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 50 participants and prizes will be awarded in various categories.
Proceeds from the race support the club's mission to maintain Charleston's Scout Cabin, with a percentage being donated to the Mary Margaret Story Yarbrough and Becky Stewart Scholarship funds.
